"Nebula" is a short animation test that was created to imitate the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium's dome graphics. After working closely with the planetarium as a staff at Liberty Science Center, I became more interested in creating my own 360 and immersive graphics that could be used on a big screen.
For this video, I took several 2D images of stellar bodies and overlayed them on top of each other in a 3D space in After Effects. This created an illusion of moving through space and passing nebulae. For the stars, I created a cone of particles to move towards the camera.
